The Nature and Culture Safari is all about personal contact. In a friendly atmosphere you will be taken to the beautiful nature of Curaçao. You end up on a beautiful bounty beach on the south side of the island, but first the trip goes to the breathtaking rugged nature of the north side. All kinds of fun facts are told along the way and you can of course ask questions.
After leaving Barber (Banda Bou / west side of the island), the Nature and Culture Safari passes through the mondi (forest) on the inhospitable north coast. This is easy with the prepared John Deere Gator, the turquoise buggy, which is suitable for the difficult back roads that you cannot reach with a standard (rental) car. After this you drive through the interior (here we call this: kunuku) of Curaçao where you get a good idea of rural life on Banda Abou. Along the way you can enjoy the view of a beautiful hill on which the divi divi tree grows, which was the subject of a well-known Dutch hit in the 1970s.

The last stop is at a lovely private beach on the south coast, Shon Mosa. Here you can sunbathe or cool off in the water. Bring diving goggles and a snorkel because the coral here is impressive.
After a last look, the return journey begins to the starting point where a light lunch awaits at a local restaurant. Don't be shocked if the Prime Minister joins us. The tour ends around 1:15 PM.
We hebben een te gekke safari-tour gemaakt door de onbekendere stukken van Banda Abou. Zelfs de 2 oud-locals aan boord zijn op plekken geweest die ze niet of nauwelijks kenden. Daarna hebben we een boottrip gemaakt langs de kust en hebben we gesnorkeld bij de onvergetelijke Blue Room (grot). Na de terugvaart stond een heerlijke en goed gevarieerde barbecue klaar op een prachtige locatie op een privé-strand en genoten we van de maaltijd, de gezelligheid en de zonsondergang. Volgens onze gastheren waren we de eerste die deze triathlon gedaan hadden. We kunnen dit aanraden.
We hadden vandaag een geweldige tour met Arie Jan en Peter van Banda Abou tours. We wonen toch al 1,5 jaar op het eiland, maar hebben weer veel nieuwe dingen gezien en gehoord. Deze 2 mannen doen hun werk met heel veel plezier en passie en dat merk je. Geen routinematig opgedreunde verhalen, maar enthousiaste vertellingen en leuke weetjes dmv een korte muziekquiz bij voorbeeld. Tot slot een barbecue op een verlaten strandje bij een prachtige zonsondergang. Aanrader voor als je ervan houdt om van de bebaande paden af te wijken.
Wij hadden als verrassing voor mijn ouders deze tour geboekt. Wat een beleving!
Een hartelijk welkom bij Peter op Fontein. Na een korte uitleg vertrokken we met de gators.
Eerst een stukje asfalt maar daarna de kunuku in. Prachtig! Je komt op plaatsen waar je met de auto niet kunt komen. Onderweg worden er leuke weetjes verteld over het eiland. Aan het einde van de middag rijden we naar een schattig strandje waar we gesnorkeld hebben. Ondertussen wordt de BBQ bereid. Op een stuk waar je anders niet mag komen gaan we bbqen en bekijken we de zonsondergang!
Een geweldige beleving! We hebben genoten. Arie Jan en Peter zijn geweldige tourguides. We gaan zeker nog een keer.
