The Arikok National Park is home to a long list of animal species and plants. For example, many animals such as the Aruban burrowing owl, the Aruban whiptail lizard and the Aruban parakeet have found their home in the park, as they are protected here by the unusual landscape. It is a great place to enjoy the impressive landscapes.
During the Arikok National Park walking tour you will be accompanied by a park ranger, who will tell you about the flora and fauna in the park and knows the best spots. Together with the Park Ranger you will walk over the rocky and uneven terrain of lava rock, quartz diorite and limestone and the ranger will introduce you to the fascinating flora and fauna and interesting historical sites.

At the visitor center you can buy the Guide Park Nacional Arikok (in Dutch and English), a nicely designed booklet with lots of background information, maps and color photos of plants and animals.
Excellent guide/park ranger on our hike to the cave pairs today! Danny M. was super knowledgeable and generous with his vast knowledge of Aruba's flora and fauna. Thanks to his keen eye we saw and learned about the different types of cacti, birds, crustaceans (hermit crabs), reptiles, snakes and mammals. Three cave painting locations were a thrill to me.

Our entire family of four (kids ages 8 and 12) enjoyed our Arikok walking tour. Our guide, Uri, was prompt and gave us an excellent, informative tour of the park. It was a great mix of learning more about Aruba, its history and culture, and an active adventure. Uri was patient and kind with our son, who is a curious little fellow, and he made sure the pace of the walk was manageable for guests of all ages.
