The Hofi Mango Tour is ideal to combine with a visit to one of the great beaches on Bandabou. After the tour you can for example enjoy Playa Lagun or Kleine Knip, Grote Knip or go turtle spotting at Playa Grandi. You will find these beaches at max. 10 minutes by car from Hofi Mango.
The beautiful historic Hofi Mango was set up as a plantation in 1707. In addition to mangoes, other crops were also grown, such as sugar cane. The traditional rum of Curaçao was distilled from this sugar cane, with the name “Geldduivel” (Money Devil). The sugar cane was pressed in a specially built sugar mill; a windmill after the Dutch model. This historic sugar mill is the only one in the Caribbean and is the eye-catcher of Hofi Mango.
The thousand centuries-old mango trees form the green heart of the park. Nowhere on Curaçao will you find a historic forest with such old trees. In the rainy season, beautiful streams flow through the mango forest.
Via a beautifully landscaped walking route you wander through the shady forest, through our palm garden and several flower gardens. The garden offers a home to the different types of birds, dragonflies, butterflies, lizards and bees.
The 24-hectare park is best viewed from the hill in the middle of the park. Here is the work of art "The hands of God" and you have a beautiful view of the Christoffel mountain.

Green paradise on Curaçao!
Lekker buiten de drukte van Willemstad Hòfi Mango bezocht. Eerste bezoek maar zeker de moeite waard om terug te komen. Vriendelijk personeel die moeite voor je deden. Helaas het grotere terrein niet kunnen bezoeken vanwege de recente overstromingen, maar zeker de moeite waard voor de volgende keer.
We hoorden, dat Jan Dino zelf een paar dagen geleden nog een rondleiding had gegeven, maar gelukkig hadden we vandaag een andere gids.
En begrijp me niet verkeerd, Jan Dino zeker als je dit leest, niet slecht bedoeld naar jou.
Onze gids was een jonge vrouw. Helaas ben ik niet zo goed in namen. Ze is 4 dagen masseuse en op vrijdag geeft ze rondleidingen.
En zij was zo positief, vrolijk en vriendelijk. Ze vertelde over de plannen voor de toekomst met dit project en over alles, dat ze al hebben gedaan.
En als je dan boven komt, waar je 360 graden uitzicht hebt, dan wordt je gewoon even stil. Wat kan de natuur prachtig zijn.
We dronken er een heerlijke verkoelende smoothy na al die traptreden in de hitte.
Het begon het te regenen en onweren. We bleven even schuilen voor we samen weer naar beneden gingen.
Daar lunchten we in het restaurant. Ik werd als vegetariër door de chef verrast met een heerlijke gerecht. Mijn man at een kipsalade en die was ook heerlijk.

We hebben genoten van het park. Vriendelijk ontvangst, heerlijk restaurant erbij. Je kunt 2 routes lopen en bent daar ongeveer een uur mee bezig. Je kunt ook met een gids gaan. Het park is het weer geopend na de overstroming in mei 2024. Bijna alles is weer hersteld.
Jammer dat het park niet open was door de overstromingen, maar er wordt met zorg en aandacht aan gewerkt . Restaurant was wel open
Indrukwekkend groot park met prachtige natuur. Allemaal heel groen met bijzondere bomen en planten. Prachtig aangelegd met paden. Restaurant is aanrader. Li di mango en kechi heb ik nog nergens zo lekker gegeten. Salada met tuna en de hamburger waren helemaal top.
