For this Bonaire Island Tour you will be picked up at your hotel or other accommodation you are staying. You will first visit the center of Kralendijk. You drive through the Kaya Grandi this is the main street of Bonaire with stores and restaurants. If you like you can be dropped off after the tour so you can enjoy shopping.
At Sabadeco you will see the most luxurious and biggest houses of Bonaire. The guide will tell you why so many people from around the world are moving here. There is a short stop at "1000 steps". You kan enjoy the view by overlooking the sea and the beautiful surroundings. Back down you can take beautiful pictures where a pearly white beach awaits you.
After this you visit the Flamingo Sanctuary. A beautiful expanse of water with many beautiful pink flamingos. You can admire them from up close. This stop is also very nice to take pictures. You visit 'Rincon', the very first official village of Bonaire founded in the 16th century. Here the oldest buildings of the island are situated.
The salt flats are one of the most beautiful places on the island. Enjoy the view of the high salt mountains and unique pink water on one side and the azure water on the other side. After the salt flats you will visit the slave huts which are built in 1850. It is remarkable to see how the slaves worked and lived there.

I had no initial expectations of this trip, but really enjoyed getting an upclose look of the mangrove, flamingos, the salt flats and Lac Bay. Carl made sure we had enough time for photos, explained the history, and was able to answer all our questions. We even ran into some donkeys which was another great photo opportunity. Thanks to Carl we had a truly enjoyable and interesting evening….you're the best!
A great guide with a great sense of humor. Shekhina Tours also provided excellent service. Everything was arranged quickly and efficiently.
Our driver was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable about the island's history. We made many stops and even met some locals at the museum stop. The small museum was packed with really good information. The Cadushy Distillery stop was also a favorite, along with the 1000 Steps and the Salt Flats. We also asked for a lunch recommendation downtown, and she directed us to Julian's, where we had a wonderful lunch.
